Nationals

This past summer my soccer team and I qualified for nationals in Denver, Colorado. When my dad and I left for Denver I thought that some of my teammates would be on my flight, but none of them were. Since none of my teammates were on my flight it was very boring and felt like it took days to finish. When we finally got to Denver and checked into our room I noticed that there were tons of soccer players in out hotel. After i found some of my friends we all started to walk around the hotel and played Pokemon Go.

The next day was our first game and we ended up getting a tie 2-2. Since we had a second game later that day we weren't aloud to run around the hotel again. When we got to the fields and looked at the other team we got really scared because of how big the other kids were. We ended up losing that game 3-2. After that game we went to a pro soccer game and it was amazing. The last game we played we ended up losing 5-4. Overall that trip to Colorado was an amazing experience.

Go For The Goal! by Mia Hamm

One of the book's I read this summer was Go For The Goal by Mia Hamm. The reason I chose this book is because it is about one of the greatest women's soccer player ever, and I love to play soccer. As I was reading this book I kept wondering how Mia Hamm joined the Women's national team when she was only fifteen. When you are reading the book the author makes it seem like you can do anything you want to if you give it your all. While reading this book it really made me want to get up and play soccer because it made soccer sound so fun.

The one thing i didn't like about this book was that it said the same thing a couple of times. For instance once while I was reading the book it said that she was amazed that she made it on the national team at such a young age, but then a few pages later it said the same thing. One strategy I used while reading this book was I imagined it was a story about myself, so it made the book a lot more fun to read. The great thing about this book is that anyone can read it because even if you don't like soccer it is still really inspiring. Overall I really enjoyed reading this book over the break.
