Symbolism

Many young children were playing on the playground during recess. The teacher saw Nathan sliding down the slide with a big smile on his face. Next to Nathan was Michael, when the teacher took a closer look at Michael she saw him frowning and yelling at Nathan. Then there was Brayden and Garret, Who were both fighting because Brayden wouldn't give Garret one of his cookies, which made him cry.

Then, last but not least there was Jimmy. Every recess Jimmy would change personality. Some days he would give others his cookies, but then the next he would push someone down in the dirt. Jimmy shows that every little kid either chooses to be good or bad. Overall every kid gets to choose whether they want to be good or bad.

Nathan=Joy
Michael=hate
Brayden=Greed
Garret=sadness

How to Win a game of Soccer

In soccer there are lots of deciding factors to the final outcome to a game, so here are the main tips that will help you increase your chance of winning. First, you have to make sure that your defenders hold a strong back line. They should not be going up for the attack unless it's a corner or free kick. If the defenders did go to far forward then the other team would have a big space to run at. Another tip is to try to get your team to pass the ball around constantly. If there is one person just dribbling the ball around without passing it to the others, he will eventually get taken down, and your team losses possession. Working as a team guarantees chances to score and a great experience for everyone. The last tip is to have fun. If you aren't having fun in a game, then you might as well not play. You shouldn't be screaming at your teammates, but instead complementing them on the good things they do. All of these tips will help you and your team succeed in any game you will play.

    These tips relate directly to how life should be lived. Being confident and courageous will get you more friends in life. If you aren't being yourself, people will start to notice it, and they won't want to hang out with you. That's where the defensive part comes in. The next tip, working as a team, If only one person worked on it, it would take a long time for them to finish. That relates to the working as a team tip because a person who just dribbles the ball wouldn't be able to always finish his amazing run if no one is giving him support. This is one of the most important tips to win a soccer game.The last tip is to have fun. If you follow these tips then you will have a lot higher chance of winning.

Thanksgiving

     Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, for many reasons. The first reason why i love Thanksgiving is the great food we get to eat. Every year my family eats turkey, and it is super good! The second reason why I love Thanksgiving is because of the time we get off of school. This holiday gives us a whole week off, which is amazing.

      My favorite part of Thanksgiving is all of my family coming to town. My cousin who is in college at LSU always comes over, and we have lots of fun together. When my Uncle comes over he always makes the best spaghetti. Also when he comes over he brings little bags that everyone opens, after we eat. Overall Thanksgiving is a great holiday!

LOTF

One of the most important scenes in the book is on page 89. It takes place while their is an assembly where everyone is discussing the beast. It starts when Simon says " maybe, maybe there is a beast." He also says " What I mean is maybe it is only us. What he says is very offending to most of the people in the scene.

This scene is important because it shows people's thoughts about the beast. Ralph and Piggy are very offended by his statement's, and wish he wouldn't have said it. Ralph and Piggy did not believe in the beast and took a logical approach and they thought  Simon would do the same. We also learn that Jack doesn't care about the beast and just wants to have fun on the island. This scene is one of the biggest foreshadowing moments. It shows that all the kids who follow Jack are like the Beast.

Prompt

Prompt: How would the world be different if there were time travel?

     At first time travel was all fun and games. People would go back in time to relive exciting moments of their lives, or history classes would take field trips to visit the Berlin Wall or experience Martin Luther King Jr's " I had a dream" speech. Time travel was used in innocent ways, for entertainment and education. However, like all good things, some humans began to abuse it.

Similar to when terrorist organizations began to utilize Twitter to advertise their ideas, people began to abuse time traveling for their personal benefit. Much like all of the time travel movies, people would try to change history. However, if we learned anything from all of those sci-fi movies, history should not be messed with. Time travel also caused people to lose interest in the present. With the possibility of living in any moment of the past or present, very few people wanted to experience the now.

LOTF response

[Piggy:] "I don't agree with all Jack said, but with some.  'Course there isn't a beast in the forest.  How could there be?  What would a beast eat?"
"Pig."
"We eat pig."
"Piggy!"
"I got the conch!" said Piggy indignantly.  "Ralph--they ought to shut up, oughtn't they?  You shut up, you littluns!  What I mean is that I don't agree about this here fear.  Of course there isn't nothing to be afraid of in the forest.  Why--I been there myself!  You'll be talking about ghosts and such things next.  We know what goes on and if there's something wrong, there's someone to put it right."
He took off his glasses and blinked at them.  The sun had gone as if the light had been turned off. [...]
"Life," said Piggy expansively, "is scientific, that's what it is.  In a year or two when the war's over they'll be traveling to Mars and back.  I know there isn't no beast--not with claws and all that, I mean--but I know there isn't no fear either."
Piggy paused.
"Unless--"
Ralph moved restlessly.
"Unless what?"
"Unless we get frightened of people." (83-84)

This passage is very important because this foreshadows Simon's death. They talk about the beast, which has been a key part of this story. At the end, Piggy brings up that the beast might be human. When Simon is eventually killed, the hunters think he is the beast because they cant see very well because it was raining. Another reason why this is significant is because this is one of the last times all of the kids are together.
